Opthimus sources its rum from distilleries located in Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. This rum undergoes aging for up to 25 years in American and French oak casks before being bottled at 38% ABV.

November 2019. Clear deep garnet. Aromatic warm sweet syrup, longan honey, figs, sweetened roasted prune, sweetened dried plum, and old furniture in the bouquet. Dry, medium body with creamy dark syrup, sweetened dried fruit, longan honey, XO brandy, old wood bark, and Oloroso sherry salty notes in the aftertaste. Awesome balance and smooth finish.
I'm new to this, but this might be too old for me. There are many wood characteristics that give off sulfur notes, which is a bit unpleasant.
A pleasant, mild, and well-balanced rum.
Warm, rich, and smooth.
