I purchased this some time ago and neglected to review it. Upon finding the bottle today, I decided to jot down some thoughts. The nose presents classic bourbon characteristics, with oak and vanilla being the most prominent. The body is light and sweet, with the oak mellowing and vanilla and caramel taking center stage. The finish is somewhat brief but lacks any bitterness or unpleasant tastes. It makes a solid Old Fashioned but is only adequate for a Manhattan. Overall, it's good but not exceptional. I appreciate that it's from a small distillery in North Carolina and has a classic-looking bottle. A bit more proof would be beneficial. Enjoy.

This is the rebranded "Old Nick" Bourbon, resulting from a lawsuit by individuals who appropriated the Old St Nick trademark and were later implicated in academic scandal. My initial review of "Old Nick" follows... Produced in North Carolina using a wheated mash bill. It exhibits typical corn sweetness, butterscotch, caramel, and significant oak. The mouthfeel is thick and lingering. It's surprisingly good for its age. While its youth is apparent, each batch shows improvement. The quality is certainly present.

Young and sweet:).. made in my home state.. received it free in an airplane bottle.. not enough to properly evaluate.

Not bad, but nothing distinct stood out. A little vanilla and perhaps cherry, but generally lacking.

It tastes young, reflecting its age. Acceptable as a mixer, but not great on its own.
