This limited edition bourbon honors James E. Pepper and his involvement in the Bottled In Bond Act. Produced under Bottled In Bond regulations, it is a small batch bourbon made from a mash bill of corn, malted barley, and malted rye. It is aged for a minimum of 4 years and bottled at 100 proof.

A very nice drink, tastes better than its proof suggests. Lots of wood and some sweetness with a nice finish and no bite. Reminds me of the Williams SIB 8-year-old from years ago, which you could get for $40, but this is thicker and more complex. Slight citrus when opened up with water. Very similar to EH Taylor, perhaps the same bottle?
Toasted brown sugar, molasses, and cinnamon on the nose. A strong sugary sweetness hits first, giving way to a buttery, smooth warmth, baking spice, and a little heat on the finish. It's sweet and warm, with a hint of proof at the end. Very tasty.
Excellent value. Hits all the right bourbon notes: a bit of character, not too smooth, sweet, and peppery. Stop reading and buy some!
It's a bit too fiery for its proof. The nose is superior to the palate. The rye flavor is prominent throughout.
