Old nick Carolina bourbon whiskey

Young and intense. This isn't a bad bottle, but it's not worth the $35 price tag in North Carolina. The distillery in the Greater Winston-Salem, NC area is run by some dedicated people. They are putting significant effort into producing a quality product. Please visit them, take a tour, and sample their offerings. They also travel around the state signing bottles and engaging with customers! The heat is prominent throughout and masks any potential underlying flavors. Aside from some astringent qualities and heavy alcohol presence, I couldn't identify any negative characteristics. This reminds me of a freshman girl I left behind in high school when I went off to college. She was attractive and showed real potential... just a bit too young for me at the time. If these individuals manage to remain in business for a few more years, they could produce some excellent offerings for the region. Consider it akin to New Riff.

Produced in NC using a wheated mash bill. Expect typical corn sweetness, butterscotch, caramel, and significant oak. The mouthfeel is thick and lingering. This is remarkably good given its age. You can sense its youth, but each batch shows improvement. The quality is certainly present.

Intensely hot from start to finish. Packed with flavor, but it fades fast. It would be excellent if it were less fiery and had a more enduring taste!

A bit intense initially but it mellows out smoothly, leaving a distinct oak flavor with a subtle smokiness.

My usual. Always reliable. It forms the base of my infinity bottle.
