Old Hickory Great American Blended Bourbon Whiskey

So Indiana tried bourbon... It's acceptable. The corn sweetness is replaced with caramel/sugar, the charred barrel color is appealing but lacks depth in flavor, and the corn/malt provides smoothness with a young oak bite. As a whiskey, it's decent, but with the added vanilla and mild spice notes, it suggests a desire to be bourbon but needs more barrel aging. I think the cost is close to fair value, and if you enjoy a whiskey burn and sweet taste, this might be what you're looking for.

An excellent introductory bourbon. It's too easy to consume for someone with my extensive bourbon experience! Abundant vanilla, very little earthy character, a hint of leather and raisin, and just a touch of rye spice at the end.

This one is interesting. The aroma isn't strong, but the taste is present. Just when you expect it to hit hard, it calms down with some pleasant vanilla and oak notes.

It's sweet and the vanilla is too dominant for my liking. The presentation is attractive. Likely better suited for mixed drinks.

Butterscotch. Pronounced butterscotch. A superb dessert whiskey. A brief, sweet finish.
