About this bottle

The mash bill for this bourbon is 99% corn and 1% malted barley, known as the "Old Hamer Standard." It rests for at least three years in new, charred 53-gallon American oak barrels. Bottling proof fluctuates by batch, generally ranging from 115 to 120. Each is presented as a single barrel selection for various retail and hospitality partners.

Kristine Foss 3.8

Nose: as expected for such a young expression, mostly ethanol. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg that develop. Palate: cinnamon is prominent, with the spice quickly transitioning to sweeter notes. Finish: very smooth, quite short with predominantly sugary, caramel notes. Not a bad pour at all for a 2-year old, sub-$30 bourbon. This is my first and only experience with West Fork so far, and it's good enough for me to explore their other offerings.

Robbie Regalado 2.8

Not bad for a 2-year-old bourbon. Sweet with a little spice. Not overly hot for the proof. Smooth. Not much on the nose or palate. A little vanilla but it fades quickly. Quite thin. Overall a decent pour.

Cierra Fagan 3.0

The nose presents vanilla and oak notes with some fruit, specifically slight citrus and red fruit. The palate is not off-putting, featuring vanilla and oak tones. The finish is subtle.

Vonda Thibodeaux 2.5

Young, not much of a burn, quite bland

Mike Chen 4.0

It has a proof of 126, yet it is smooth.
