The aroma begins with toasted wood, cherry syrup, rye spice, plus hints of vanilla and molasses that come through. It's a delightful dessert-like nose, really making you want to take a taste. The taste is somewhat dry and fills the mouth with toasted wood, cherry syrup and earthy rye spice. The spice intensifies as you enjoy it, but it never becomes overwhelming. This is a young, delightfully spicy bourbon, that also showcases the smoother characteristics Old Forester can possess. The finish is moderately long with a lingering toasted wood and cherry syrup that is almost puckering but doesn't become unpleasant. Everything else fades nicely, making this very easy to savor.
