The nose is darkening and dusky, dominated by rich wood and malted barley, with a touch of wheat to lighten it. The flavor is integrated, possessing a slight bitter tang reminiscent of sour mash. Notes of burnt bread and peppery rye are also apparent. The mouthfeel is substantial, leading to a very long finish. This spirit benefits from the addition of water to help it open up and allow the flavors to express themselves. An interesting experiment that could use some refinement.

I'm tasting this directly against the Double Wheat. You absolutely need to be in the mood for a pronounced oak character. If that's what you're after, you'll adore this. Otherwise, I can't fault it, except to say that if you have to pick one, go with the Double Wheat.
A good high malt, four-grain whiskey. I can detect the maltiness, which isn't my top preference, but it's pleasant.
Smells malty, spicy, and of vanilla. Feels astringent.
Great scent, smooth flavor.
A gentle heat and sugary notes.
