Hans Bishop 2.0

Batch 2, bottle 19, aged 5 years. Served in a Glencairn glass, rested for 15 minutes. Appearance: Medium amber. Nose: Caramel, vanilla, and some dark fruit. Palate: A hint of spice, but dominated by an overwhelming note I often detect in some Texas whiskeys, which I can only describe as hay. Finish: Medium length, leaning more towards sweetness than heat, with notes of sweet clove. With a splash: No new flavors emerged. Overall: 4/10 - A gift from a friend, and while I understand this whiskey has its admirers, I am not among them. I'm hoping to use it in cocktails or some other application, as drinking it neat is not my preference.
