Nose: Fantastic! Strong vanilla with a light smoke. Almost like faint burnt leather with crisp toffee and coffee bean. Palate: Despite being 55% ABV, it's very smooth. I experienced very little initial alcohol burn! It's smoky but not excessively so, allowing notes of hot caramel and dark chocolate to come through. My favorite aspect throughout the sip was the welcome vanilla spice note. A light smoke also makes its presence known. Finish: Warm but sweet. Unfortunately, it's too brief for me; I wished for more as it gently faded from the tongue. It leaves behind a taste akin to melted vanilla ice cream. Perhaps...marshmallow and wood spice. Conclusion: I thoroughly enjoyed it! It's shaping up to be one of my favorite Nikka releases. For around $65 retail, it's a worthwhile purchase if you can find it! On the secondary market, I'd pay up to $100 for this. Anything beyond that would depend on whether I had any spares left 🤔😜 Cheers everyone 🥃

November 2019. A hue ranging from clear medium dark gold to amber. Served in a medium small tulip glass. On the nose, there are notes of vanilla, intensely roasted coffee beans, sweet spice, aged leather, honey, toffee, and the scent of trees in a forest. The palate is full-bodied, offering abundant spicy wood, toasted bread, Christmas cake, tiramisu, and crème brûlée. A well-balanced, medium-long finish. 55% alcohol by volume.
Appealing aroma. Baked apples, Fruit, wood, and vanilla. On the palate, it's peppery with some White pepper and woody notes, then vanilla emerges, finishing with smoke. It concludes with a lengthy, warm finish of increasing smoke...
It's potent due to the high alcohol content, yet surprisingly smooth. A wealth of flavor, with vanilla and wood aromas, and lingering spices at the conclusion.
Nosing: young and sharp, fresh oak and raisins Flavor: sharp peppery fire burn, iodine, and oiliness Finish: the oaky, woody finish is most prominent.
Potent and sweet, matching its name. Despite its youth and 50% ABV, it's excellent with a splash of water. 93
