Nose - Fresh apples, honey, unripe pineapple, sandalwood Taste - A bit thin, sandalwood, apples, honey, light pineapple, gentle ginger warmth Finish - Lingering woody apples, honey, sandalwood Score - 82/100 Final Thoughts - Nothing too exciting about this one, but also nothing really off putting about this one. Not the most complex pour, but also something that's just nice & tasty that you can sip on & enjoy while doing pretty much anything. Low enough in proof where your tastebuds won't get fatigued as well as one where you won't feel bad having a tiny bit more. I haven't had this in a highball yet, but I can see it doing pretty well with a lemon or orange twist. For the price, it's amazing. Compared to other whiskies, it's nothing special. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes Would I specifically order it? - Maybe Would I buy a bottle? - Yes NOTE - All reviews are done without factoring in price.

The nose didn't offer much for me, mostly just the typical oaky sweetness, though a subtle ash and orange peel note was detectable. On the palate, the first impression was dark chocolate with orange bits, followed by a soft malty mouthfeel and milk coffee with an ashy undertone. There was also a faint floral bitterness towards the end, but it wasn't overwhelming. The finish was somewhat quick but pleasant, with minimal bite. It started a bit sharp but rounded out with more dark chocolate and toffee flavors. A hint of dark burnt toast bitterness was also present, with medium oak and ash being the last elements to emerge. This is definitely worth purchasing at ¥4100 ($40). I genuinely enjoy it! While it might not be the best malt globally, for that price, it's balanced and mellow enough for neat consumption or a highball. It also possesses enough complexity to keep me engaged.
