The malt is thought to originate from Inver House Distillers, which includes Balblair, Balmenach, Knockdhu, Pulteney, and Speyburn. It is aged and bottled in Spain. Nose - Caramel, oak, toffee, apples (with water) - same aromas but with an added hint of coconut. Taste - A bit sharp, caramel, apples, leather, cinnamon, light floral notes (with water) - Reduced sharpness, still fruity spice/tingle, apples, drying, more tannic, fruit stems, light mineral. Finish - Lingering sharpness, caramel, vanilla, apples, gentle spice (with water) - unchanged. Score - 85/100 Final Thoughts - This had a somewhat familiar character, as if I'd encountered something similar before. It presented like classic bourbon-aged single malt, offering pleasant notes of caramel and a good, gentle malt. Cooked/mild apples were dominant, and the aroma effectively masked the alcohol content. There was nothing unpleasant, but it didn't particularly stand out, feeling somewhat one-dimensional. However, what was present was quite enjoyable. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes Would I specifically order it? - Perhaps Would I buy a bottle? - No NOTE - All reviews are done without factoring in price.

A significant sherry influence is evident, with a flavor profile reminiscent of the Balvenie 15 (which this liquid is believed to originate from), in my estimation. However, this appears even more potent, perhaps due to the sherry's recent application. Immediately, you detect light smoke and oak, followed by leather and tobacco leaf. A subtle sherry undertone persists throughout, leading to a prolonged finish for contemplation.
Strongly resembles highland park cask strength bottlings. Caramel and honey are dominant flavors. A bit sharp yet creamy. I enjoyed it greatly.
