The nose is very smooth, with a lot of maple syrup, but it's quite mild. The first sip has very little spice or burn and a thin flavor. The second sip reveals a lot of butter, a richer flavor, and a delicious mouthfeel. Ah, there's the burn... It took far too long to appear and lingers slightly, but I anticipated it would last longer given the proof. It's acceptable and very approachable, but it's at best a decent bourbon.
