Kade Horn 1.5

Nose: A rubbery, sulphurous sherry aroma with just a trace of fruit and oak. Palate: A sweet but somewhat harsh initial taste. Not bad, but quite unremarkable. The palate offers little variation beyond general "whisky" characteristics. The texture is unmemorable, but not terrible. Finish: Was there a finish? My apologies, I missed it. The nose suggests low-quality casks, but to be fair, this is a budget blend. It's marketed by the same entity that produces a previously reviewed blended whisky, and this is their superior option. It is indeed better, with less rubber and grain focus, more overall satisfaction, and a slightly higher price. However, for those in Australia, a small price increase could get you a bottle of Loch Lomond Reserve, which is exceptional at this price point and won't disappoint. It's rated "Inferior": 67/100 (1.5 stars).

There's an alcohol burn with some burnt caramel and almost almond notes.
