MB Roland Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Batch 7)

Batch #10.. bread upfront, understandable given the 20% red winter wheat mash bill.. a lingering char on the tongue leaves pleasant fruit, reminiscent of strawberry, and then CHOCOLATE.. A slight burn, with an aroma akin to calvados apple press barn.. certainly a welcome surprise. "A treat" (I typically prefer rye over wheat). P.S. I really like the wood-carved barn picture on the cork stopper - a very nice detail!

For a barrel proof bourbon, this has a balanced flavor. I enjoy it on the rocks with a little water. Drinking it neat can be a bit harsh. I will purchase it again.

Somewhat fruity with an unpleasant aftertaste, like grapefruit.

Sweet, but grainy notes of corn and wheat.

Tastes like awful, burning trash.

Tastes like homemade spirit.
