About this bottle

Masterson's Straight Wheat Whiskey 12 Year is named for William "Bat" Masterson, an Old West figure known for embracing new trends. While wheat often plays a secondary role, it is the primary grain in this whiskey, which is made with Canadian wheat and local glacier water, and aged for 12 years in new oak.

Wow! What a strange aroma, whiskey with bitter almonds, I'm not sure. I thought it was a type of bourbon and likely not far off due to the sweetness. I believe the unrefined vanilla/scotch is what I perceived as bitter almond. Now I need to find a cocktail that includes both bourbon and maraschino.

The aroma is syrupy, with some floral notes. Sweet on the palate, with notes of dark chocolate and honey towards the end. Smooth for its proof. Rather straightforward. 7/30/17

Noemi Booker

Exhibits typical wheat notes, isn't too harsh, and was smoother than anticipated.
