This is made just up the road from me, so I really wanted to enjoy it. But it's incredibly difficult. This has been aged for about a year and a half. The nose and palate are comparable to a 3-star scotch, which makes it a 1.5-star bourbon. The nose is just... strange. It starts with an unidentifiable sweetness and then becomes odd. The palate is similar—it begins with something like cherry and green apple, but then devolves into a raisiny funk. It reminds me of a half-opened bottle of Dimple Pinch I found in my dad's cabinet, which had been there for 30 years. I'll see if I can age this myself and improve it.

Young and unrefined; harsh and lacking balance, with notes of cherry, prune juice, cardboard, and damp oak.
It wasn't as bad as I had anticipated based on reviews. It definitely tasted like scotch.
All charcoal.
