Lost Republic Straight Bourbon

Full disclosure: my palate was somewhat impaired when tasting. It's somewhat sweet and tastes a little young, with mild vanilla and banana. There's a slight burn, primarily in the nasal passage. It's somewhat oily, and the flavor lingers a bit. I need to taste it again properly.

Very light and spicy. Not bad, but not exceptional. I was interested in this when I started exploring bourbon, but other, more intriguing options always took precedence. I'm glad I tried it as a sample pour before committing to a purchase.

The aroma includes cinnamon, oak, apple, butterscotch, leather, corn, and char. The palate is lightly sweet, with wood, apple, cinnamon, corn, and vanilla. The finish is spicy. Solid offering.

Brown sugar, with notes of apples or pears. Transitioning to dusty corn and hay. A bit warm on the finish, with some prickly sensations. I enjoyed it.

Tasted neat, borrowed from a friend who has passed out again. This is delightful, with notes of vanilla, tobacco, and caramel.

Notes of oak, vanilla, and ripe fruit. The aroma and initial taste are strong, but the finish is short. It's somewhat one-dimensional and seems a bit young.
