This is my second review following my visit to Litchfield Distillery this afternoon. I sampled this Straight Bourbon at the distillery and also took a small bottle home to enjoy in the comfort of my parents' home. This bourbon is aged, "At least 4 years." Color: Light golden amber. Nose: A more traditional bourbon aroma with subtle notes of vanilla, allspice, and some corn emerging. Palate: Young grain flavors with a tingling sensation on the tongue and very little warmth in the chest. Mildly sweet and spicy with hints of oak char. Finish: Short, with the usual lingering spiciness and woodiness. While this isn't my preferred spirit among the handful I tasted at the distillery today, it is a respectable bourbon that I would consume again.

Ladonna Grimes 3.5

Better than anticipated. Vanilla and oak upfront, which then mellows. No smoke, but the wood is noticeable. For its proof, there's considerable sweetness, but not much depth after that, as the thinness dissipates without much flavor. A profile similar to Bulleit mixed with Maker's sweetness. A brief finish.

Kiara Kirchner 3.3

It's a bit intense for my palate, but acceptable. A friend's family hails from Connecticut, which is why I acquired it; otherwise, I might not have. I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Miles Felix 3.5

Green banana and orange peel notes. The palate completely transitions to raw dough and crushed apricot skins. Young characteristics. Mellow. Fleeting hints of vanilla and a warming hard candy conclude it.

Reese Ivy 3.0

The initial bottle of this was excellent, comparable to Maker's. My second experience was less impressive, much harsher with a burn. Inconsistent.

Major Ahrens 4.0

It went down smooth as silk. Not the least bit rough. Left a sweet finish. Heads up, it is 100 proof.
