About this bottle

This Ledaig was produced at Tobermory on the isle of Mull during the summer of 1998 and aged in conventional oak for 18 years. It subsequently spent almost two years maturing in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Bottled at cask strength of 55.7% without chill filtration or color additives, Ledaig 1998 Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish was issued in 2018 by its owner, Distell, as one of six limited single malt releases from their scotch whisky collection.

Kristian Stark 4.5

If you enjoy heavily peated Scotch, Ledaig is a brand worth exploring. This particular bottling is remarkable. Expect notes of toffee, chocolate, and red fruits on both the nose and palate. The finish has a peppery character. I find that adding a small amount of pure water enhances it wonderfully. I enjoy this whisky before dinner as a way to relax after the day. It's a spirit to consider.

Ginger Aldrich 4.5

From a tasting event featuring the 2008 and 12-year-old expressions (but still excellent!).
