About this bottle

Batch A125 marks the initial release of Larceny Barrel Proof Batch for 2025, with two further editions planned. Consistent with prior bottlings, this is an uncut, small-batch bourbon aged between 6 and 8 years, which is bottled directly from the barrel. The mash bill consists of Heaven Hill's wheated bourbon recipe: 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley. It is presented at 125 proof (62.5% ABV) and will be offered in limited quantities starting in February 2025. (SRP $64.99)

Peyton Farias 4.0

Color: Medium Amber Smell: Toasted marshmallow; instant hot cocoa; bread dough. An excellent aroma. Taste: (With an ice cube) The initial taste is syrupy sweet. The alcohol strength is immediately apparent, providing a significant warm sensation. Charred oak and a spicy burst that tingles the tongue follow. Swirling the liquid reveals a fleeting hint of "citrus." There's a lot happening, and I'm trying to process it all on this first try. Later pours show similar sweetness and spice, with some of the "bread dough" from the smell carrying over to the taste. Aftertaste: Lingering, primarily featuring charred oak barrel and baking spices... and just a touch of fruit. Slightly drying. Concluding Thoughts: Rating these yearly releases is challenging due to comparisons with prior versions. I rarely keep them long enough to directly contrast. Reviewing my past Larceny ratings, every batch I've tried has received at least 3.75 stars. This A125 is a solid batch on its own, earning 4.0 stars. It's not especially distinctive, but it's a strong drink with the expected character for 125 Proof.
