Lambertus Single Malt

Information about this Belgian whisky is limited. The bottle label is our sole source, indicating it is 5 years old. It's uncertain if this malt has natural coloring or if it undergoes chill filtration. Nose - The initial aroma is sharp and underdeveloped, resembling beer yeast. This is complemented by notes of fresh apple, pear, sweet honey, sugary cornflakes, a hint of mint, and an unexpected touch of vinegar. Palate - Its immaturity is quite noticeable, characterized primarily by a sweet-sour profile. Unfortunately, the palate lacks depth. Finish - This is where the whisky excels. The duration is short to medium-long, providing a surprisingly pleasant experience. Maltiness and sweet undertones dominate the finish. Overall, it's a somewhat one-dimensional whisky, with the finish being its saving grace. Suitable for a relaxed evening when you're not looking for a complex drink. However, it won't be a regular purchase for me. Rating: "Sub-par" - 2 stars | Not bad, but I'd prefer many other choices.
