Khloe Dolan 3.8

I genuinely feel this is a good whisky, especially considering the price. Some may prefer the 12-year-old version, while others will favor this one. I rated the former a 4.0 and this one a 3.5, but only two points separate them (80 versus this 78). Bottled at 40% alcohol by volume, with a golden hue. The nose is very similar to the palate. Its aroma isn't complex but is pleasant. Almonds/nutmeg, red wine, orange cake, prunes. There's a dry fruit aroma, both hard and soft varieties. Fresh and fruity. On the palate: Honey, Nutmeg, Butterscotch, Almonds, and cereal. Creamy, from the grain whisky. An easy, very easy spirit to drink. The aftertaste is oaky and creamy with a hint of smoke. Overall, I award this dram a 78 out of 80. It's very easy to drink and should be at least a 4.0, but my scoring system, which has benefited many whiskies historically, now works against this fine, fair dram.

Cora Rosales 2.0

An affordable, entry-level blended scotch. It's reasonably smooth, sweet, and oaky, but ultimately unmemorable.
