The nose carries the distinct aroma of bulk grain whiskey - ethanol, old cask, tough cereal, and a slightly rubbery scent, likely from a specific grain distillery. The malt content appears low. This is similar to other cheap blends and is best for mixing, not sipping. It's not recommended for neat consumption but is acceptable with soft drinks, where more vanilla can be detected. It's rated poorly due to its price point and unimpressive quality compared to other budget options. It's considered less impressive than Bells and Famous Grouse. "Poor": 62/100 (1 star).

For the cost, I really think this is a decent spirit. The rating might suggest something different, but given it's only $7 here in Ecuador, it holds its own against other inexpensive options. It's not a bad drink when you consider the alternatives. Comes in at 40% alcohol. Smells like: Lemon, vanilla, stale cake, a hint of alcohol, dried plums, and plenty of cream. Taste is: Creamy, exceptionally creamy, with a lot of grain spirit. A burn from the oak, vanilla, and oak. Lingers briefly. A slight sting with a clove aftertaste. My final score is 57 out of 100.

The classic version I tried is 43% ABV. It's certainly not bad for the price. It has the typical characteristics of a blend, meaning it's unremarkable and seems diluted. However, the finish, while simple, lasts quite a while. For $14? I'll definitely buy a bottle when I run out of my everyday drinkers.

France has bottles like this, so Cognac is set... Astringent, brief, a medicinal tang/metallic taste, no real smoke, honey might be on the nose, it possibly smells superior to its flavor.
