KC 9YR (Longhorn Steakhouse Selection) featuring Rackhouse L AROMA: Oak. Peanut Shell. Brown Sugar. Clove. Orange Peel. The empty glass is dominated by Oak. NEAT: Dry Oak. Peanut. Vanilla. Maple. Musty Hay. A warming, medium-length finish leaves a coating of Musty Oak & Vanilla on the palate. WITH A SPLASH: A small addition of water reveals a hint of Pink Bubblegum on the palate. VERDICT: Discovered this while traveling, and I can find no information about it. I can locate details on Single Barrel Longhorn selections, but this appears to be the standard 9-year-old Small Batch with a small sticker indicating "featuring Rackhouse L." I am eager to return home and compare it directly with a regular bottling, as I believe it possesses a musty quality (which I enjoy) that I don't recall from the standard KC9.

Surprised by this selection! It drinks hotter than 100 proof, with excellent spice. Notes of brown sugar, nutty, and pepper. The finish through the nose is fantastic.
