A dark sweetness on the nose like molasses with dark cherry and vanilla, accompanied by a campfire aroma from the charred oak. On the palate, you can taste the 120 proof, but it quickly fades to carnival flavors of candy apple, cherry, and a buttery kettle corn. The smoky finish lingers nicely. I'm eager to pair it with a cigar. A good selection.

These single barrel selections from Knob Creek are outstanding. They are very rich, with prominent notes of dark cherry and tobacco. Despite its 120 proof, it drinks much lighter. I set it aside to sample other spirits, but returned to it a few months later. It's incredibly good, scoring 92/100.

Many higher-proof bourbons are still something I'm not quite used to. However, this one is different; it doesn't deliver that harsh kick. It's smooth. I'm not great at identifying specific notes, but I certainly detect caramel in the aftertaste.

An impressive aroma, with notes of candy corn, oak, and leather. The palate begins with spice. Cinnamon gives way to cocoa powder. The typical peanut flavor associated with Beam is absent. It has a fairly high alcohol content.
