Nicholas King 3.5

Nose: The aroma presents salted caramel, vanilla, and milk chocolate. With time, a woody note emerges, followed by toasted walnut. Overall, it's a very sweet and pleasant scent. Later, some citrus subtly appears. Body: The mouthfeel is full, delivering a genuine Kentucky embrace. Palate: Caramel and spice. The initial sips offer little on the palate, perhaps too much heat? A few drops of water are added. With dilution, more caramel and vanilla emerge, alongside hints of chocolate and toffee. Later, it becomes a bit nuttier. This dram benefits from water to reveal its character. Finish: The first sip brings heat. The immediate impression is a full-bodied and very extended finish. Note: This was an incredibly generous gift, and I am very grateful. Nevertheless, I intend to review this as objectively as a bourbon enthusiast can rate a whiskey. I haven't explored much from this distillery, but here we go. The nose is amazing. The initial palate from the neck pour left something to be desired; it was simply too hot to drink neat and discern much flavor. More flavor emerges with water. I will try this again. The initial sip is good, but not great.
