An intense, 12-year-old expression of a Single Malt Japanese Whisky finished in sweet Sherry casks. Not content with just any land, these producers built their stills in 1955 beneath Mount Asama—an active volcano. They exclusively used Golden Promise, an imported Scottish barley lauded for its exceptional character when aged for extended periods. It presents a bitter & dry beginning with notes of fig, sweet sherry, bread & cherry; a rich middle showcases notes of fruit, plum & dates; concluding with a long & sour end featuring notes of mint, licorice, nuts, spice, leather & orange.
