I was keen to try this expression, intrigued by the prospect of a sherried JW. It was actually quite good for the "almost nothing" price charged, and it was an interesting dram because the nose isn't sherried at all. Bottled at 40% ABV On the nose, this was maritime. Salt, strawberry, heather, laundry detergent, sandy beach. Quite interesting, actually. Sherry appeared on the palate, a sherried sweetness, some grape juice, and ginger. The aftertaste was salty and coastal. It reminds me of some sherried Islay whiskies. Not complex at all, easy to drink, interesting without being life-changing; I rate this dram a 72 out of 100.

An excellent nose! Madeira, prunes, pleasant peat, dried fruit. The palate offers milk chocolate with a sherry influence, dried fruit, ginger, and also prunes. The finish also has dried fruit, smoky prunes. I believe the best way to describe this whisky is smoky prune flavor with hints of peat and ginger.
