This is a special bottling from Jack Daniel's honoring one of their celebrated Master Distillers, specifically the third in the series, dedicated to Lemuel Tolley. It offered a remarkable journey. At 43% ABV with an orange amber hue. On the nose: Banana, vanilla, prunes, cherries, coconut, and sawdust. Hints of burnt cake crest and hazelnut, with a faint bitterness. Reminiscent of FERRERO ROCHER CHOCOLATES. Truly outstanding. On the palate, it's somewhat uninspired. Vanilla, pepper, and a touch watery. The finish is superb. Just two distinct notes: Butterscotch and Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Overall, this Jack Daniel's offering was quite distinct from others; it wasn't perfectly balanced but provided a definite thrill ride. Rated 85 out of 100.

Possesses significantly more sharpness than I'd expect from JD. I appreciate it even less after it's had time to open up. I wouldn't refuse a pour if offered, but I won't be buying it myself.
Perhaps it was the #6 black label. Wonderful. Shared in TN with a friend.
