Dahlia Feldman 2.8

From a virtual tasting on February 25, 2022. Nose presented sweet, mild peat, salinity, iodine, lemon/citrus, mineral, and salt. The palate offered light peat, smoke, TCP, menthol, and charred wood, with salt and seaweed alongside faint fruit and berry notes. The finish was lengthy, featuring sweet smoke, BBQ meats, medicinal qualities, and seaside character, with more subtle fruit hints on the aftertaste. It resembles a fusion of Laphroaig Select and Caol Ila 12y/o, being sweeter and less ashy than the latter, yet retaining more sweetness than the former. Think of a subdued combination of both. This is a respectable, standard pour, but it does seem somewhat restrained. Not intricate, but suitable for those desiring a sweet yet gently smoky dram. It ranked fourth among the six pours, receiving 9% of the vote for favorite of the night, with 61% of attendees indicating enjoyment.
