J Bumgardners VA Pure Old Str Bourbon Whiskey

The nose features prominent caramel and oak, along with a slight ethanol note that belies its 4-5 year age. Caramel and oak carry through to the palate, with an almost rye-like peppery quality. It's a bit more intense than some mainstream 'wheaters,' but not overwhelmingly so. This is a thick, lingering spirit that would do well in a simple highball or cocktail for those who prefer diluted whiskey.

Notes of Caramel and Oak to the aroma and to the taste with hits of sugar and vanilla.. A robust mouth feel that is smooth with enough spice to hold up if used with a soda mixer. This bourbon was a national favorite before prohibition now being resurrected with its original recipe and original label. Made in Augusta County, Virginia.
