Macduff International produces Islay Mist Deluxe, a blended Scotch whisky that is distilled, blended, and bottled in Scotland. The foundation of this smoky Scotch is a single malt from the Laphroaig distillery on Islay, combined with other unspecified malt and grain whiskies. It has no age statement and is bottled at 40% ABV.

Received as a gift, I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised. This would be a suitable introduction to peated whisky. It's sweet with some smoke and enjoyable. Plus, it's inexpensive, fitting the description of "you'll have had your tea then?"
The initial taste isn't bad, but there's a slightly off, gasoline-like note. It disappears quickly after the first sip. However, it's very affordable.
Affordable peat, less enjoyable, somewhat bland, uninspired, not fresh, it's acceptable.
Smoky, lightly peaty, mild & sweet. Spicy notes, and disappears quickly.
Not overly viscous. Rather smoky. Possesses some sweetness. Simple to drink.
A good starting point for someone who doesn't usually drink Islay. Essentially, a lighter version of Islay.
