A market selection. Barrel 20,009.. When I first opened this bottle, the only thing I could smell was burning wires. The taste was harsh. Now it's been sitting mostly empty for a bit. Round two. The aroma is heavy oak, char, brown sugar, and a hint of yeast autolysis. The flavor has improved significantly, but there's still something odd. It's slightly bitter, slightly tannic, with char and brown sugar. It has definitely improved with age and oxidation; fresh, it was almost undrinkable. Now it has a little funk from the beer, and it's just not the spirit I expected for the price. Beers should be aged in barrels, and then used for something other than putting a spirit in it.
