Hickory Hill Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon

Terrible bottle – a strong bite and lingering aftertaste, with a smell and flavor akin to chemicals 👎🏻. A valuable lesson learned: don't trust a total wine and more employee who pushes a bottle so hard. I suspect they were trying to unload inventory. If an open bottle were returnable, this would be the first one going back.

Likely a high rye bourbon aged for six months or less. Immature rye is very noticeable but more like paint thinner. Tasted a bottle that an acquaintance picked up while in Texas.

Wow, that's potent! It made my nose tingle. I had to add ice. The aroma and taste have a strong oak and peanut character. It wasn't great; I had to mix it with soda, and even then, it wasn't very enjoyable.

The warmth is noticeable, but the flavors are pleasant, featuring vanilla and hickory. However, the intensity lingers for a while.

I don't care for this. Tastes like I'm sucking on a piece of lumber. Big burn. Not sure there's much good about this.

Enjoyable, I drink it neat, it makes you happy without any distractions.
