Nose - Butterscotch, cinnamon, vanilla, a trace of cherry, oak Taste - Surprisingly thin yet drying, with sweet cherry vanilla, caramel, cinnamon spice, oak, and a subtle woody bitterness Finish - A light cinnamon warmth, mild vanilla caramel, and a hint of bright red maraschino cherries Score - 73/100 Final Thoughts - The aroma is unexpectedly delicate. It presents fairly standard bourbon characteristics, with only a faint woody bitterness on the finish being slightly off-putting. Nothing particularly exciting, though it is a reasonably easy spirit to drink. Typical bourbon flavors, leaning towards fruitier notes, specifically a bright, artificial-tasting cherry rather than a deep, rich one. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes Would I specifically order it? - No Would I buy a bottle? - No

The higher fusel alcohol is overpowering. Cinnamon, vanilla, and a trace of butterscotch are in the background. Somewhat oily and spicy. While I can't find much information on the mash bill, I suspect it contains a significant amount of rye. Meh. Definitely not worth $50, but I'll finish the bottle.

Picture yourself in a lavender patch with a cute sheep, contemplating a desire for pricey, average bourbon. Then, a bottle of Hickory Hill Single Barrel is presented to you and your companion. Truly pleasant moments.

Complex bourbon, long finish, slightly high proof. A pleasant surprise, I would buy it again. Adding a note - I bought it a year or more ago for around $50. I now see it priced at $99. It's not worth that much in my opinion. The market is wild.

The aroma is primarily reminiscent of rubbing alcohol. It becomes a little better when chilled.
