The nose starts with charred oak, spicy cherry, fruit sweetness, vanilla, and touches of rye spice balancing it out. It's a very pleasant blend of bourbon and cherry complementing each other very well. The palate is gentle and smooth with a great mix of charred oak and spicy cherry, mostly staying at the front of the mouth. Vanilla and rye spice follow behind in equal amounts. The flavor is indeed good but could probably benefit from being at a higher proof, as things seem a bit too mild. The finish is medium and leaves the mouth tingling as charred oak and spicy cherry fade.
