Grand Macnish Six Cask Edition

Nose: A faint scent of generic scotch whisky, with traces of cereal, honey, and fruit, but it's exceptionally light and weak. Palate: Watered-down notes of cereal, honey, and vanilla, quickly followed by a hot, peppery quality, but there's an underlying white sugar sweetness. Finish: Very short, almost non-existent, with nothing left on the palate 15 seconds after tasting. This is one of the most insipid blended scotches I've ever tasted. Its only redeeming quality is the absence of any major flaws; there's simply nothing going on, making it unbelievably dull to drink neat. It's hard to believe this blend contains any malt whisky, as it strongly resembles a bottom-shelf 3-year-old grain whisky. Mixed with Coke or dry ginger ale, it imparts only a ghostly hint of scotch, and that's it. I recently re-evaluated Johnnie Walker Black Label and gave it a rather harsh rating of 1.5. This is worse.
