George Dickel Classic Recipe, formerly known as George Dickel No. 8, utilizes the brand's standard mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley. Before aging, the Tennessee whisky undergoes charcoal mellowing and is then placed into new, charred American oak barrels, with heads receiving a #2 char and staves a #4 char. Sweet aroma, very smooth with no harshness, but also no distinct flavor. A mild warmth is felt upon swallowing. It would be suitable for sipping from a flask at an outdoor event. Best enjoyed neat.
Similar in flavor to Jack Daniels, but smoother with a bit more vanilla.
