About this bottle

The 2024 limited edition Garrison Brothers Guadalupe bourbon honors a significant river in Texas. Master Distiller Donnis Todd and his team create this expression using their signature Texas straight bourbon, crafted from locally grown corn, soft red winter wheat, and barley. This bourbon then undergoes a two-year finishing period in tawny port barrels. It is presented at 107 proof, with a total production of 10,500 bottles. On February 3, 2024, 1,000 bottles will be available at the distillery during its launch event, with the remainder distributed nationwide in February 2023. (SRP $149.99)

Brook Loomis 4.5

Following a tour at Garrison Brothers, I was very impressed by the caliber of their Bourbon. All their spirits are quite good! However, this one, finished in a Port cask, is exceptional! The 2024 batch produced 10500 bottles; mine is #4289. It displays a dark amber hue, very viscous legs, a full body, and is 107 proof. The aroma immediately presents toffee, caramel, milk chocolate, and a hint of cherry. The palate introduces more wheat and malted barley, offering a french toast sensation with a blend of toasted bread, caramel, and clove. The caramel and toffee are slightly dominant. The finish brings cinnamon and nutmeg, with the spices becoming more prominent. It's highly complex, delightful, and very rich! Worth the cost!

An exceptional Wheated Bourbon from Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas. It's a Small Batch Bourbon aged at least 4 years in American white oak, then finished in port casks for an additional 2-4 years, bottled at 107 proof. The aroma is rich with notes of grain, wood, fruits, nuts, herbs, and spices. The taste is rich and creamy, with notes of strawberry preserve on a warm butter biscuit, lavender honey, caramel, raspberry, and plum. The long, hot finish includes notes of oak, cinnamon, chocolate, and toasted coffee beans. Tasting conducted in June 2024 with Master Distiller Donnis Todd.

Stacey Goodrich 5.0

Abundant chocolate and raspberry notes, very smooth and rich. The best bottle I've ever had in this price range.
