2 oz sampler Nose - Cinnamon, caramel, red apple, pine needle, light oak, and moderate ethanol. Palate - Thin caramel, bitter oak, green apple, unsweetened flowers, and light cinnamon. The finish is medium with bitter oak, light vanilla bean, and light ethanol. It's been a while since I've had this. It's okay, but there are better options available for under $40. If you desire the Four Roses experience, spend a little more for a single barrel.

In a Glencairn glass, let sit for 15 minutes. Medium amber color. Smells of caramel, vanilla, and some dark fruit. Tastes of cinnamon and clove with a slightly dry oak finish. The finish has moderate heat but lasts longer than expected for 90 proof. Adding a splash doesn't reveal new flavors. Overall: 8/10 - An excellent bourbon for its price. It might not perform well in cocktails due to its proof, but it's great on its own.

While not overly complex, it's an approachable sipper that executes the classic bourbon profile effectively, particularly its spicy characteristics.

The nose offers peach, vanilla, caramel, and oak. Subtle hints of raisin and apple are also present. The palate closely mirrors the nose, with vanilla right at the forefront. Caramel is there too, but the flavor shifts to that peach note in the middle. The finish is relatively short and has an oaky character with a touch of cinnamon spice.

Nose: Toasted butterscotch oak Palate: Butter, oak, caramel, pepper Finish: Oak, pepper, dry A decent choice for sipping. I tried it in an Old Fashioned, and it was ordinary. The flavor didn't change much. I think I need to experiment with it more. It has a taste I'd call buttery.

Smooth flavor throughout, with a very mild burn at the end. The flavor is difficult to pinpoint, slightly sweet but mild overall. I don't detect any strong flavors, just a hint of floral notes. It's very pleasant overall, equally good served neat or on the rocks.
