The scent features elote, oak, cinnamon sugar, mild vanilla, berry, and wintergreen. The alcohol presence is slightly higher than desired for its proof, but still low overall. The taste is sweeter than the aroma suggested, with traditional vanilla and caramel notes coming forward. It also has nutmeg, allspice, buttery corn, and a very faint herbal note, which, if forced, I'd identify as sage. The flavors are rather straightforward, lacking intensity and depth. The finish is on the shorter side, with strong oak tannins, white pepper, cinnamon, and clove. The mouthfeel is on the fuller side of medium-bodied, possessing a pleasant slickness that prevents it from feeling harsh or rough. A respectable bourbon, though not remarkable, as most of its flavors are quite common. However, at the $49.99 I paid, it's hardly a rip-off; there are simply better options available for the price. It's just another one of those many "pretty good" bottles I don't foresee myself purchasing again.

An elegant Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey created by Master Distiller Brent Elliott in Kentucky. It uses a mash bill of 75% Corn, 20% Rye, and 5% Malted Barley with yeast O. It has an inviting aroma with notes of grains, wood, fruits, nuts, herbs, and spices; a delicate middle layer includes hints of strawberry, cherry, fig, vanilla cupcake, and brownie batter; concluding with a balanced, medium-length finish featuring hints of orange zest, oak, nougat, chocolate mousse cake, toasted walnuts, wet tobacco, tea leaf, and mint. Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Appearance: Medium amber. Smell: Caramel, apple, butterscotch. Taste: Cinnamon, baking spice, some oak tannins. Aftertaste: Warm and surprisingly long for 100 proof. Splash: A vegetal and almost salty note appears. Overall: 9/10 - Having sampled this recipe at full strength, this 100 proof iteration is almost as good. A favorite Four Roses single barrel recipe. Easy to locate and not pricey for what it is.

Based on its description, the OESO profile seemed right up my alley, and it is! It offers a wonderful blend of fruit and vanilla, with a substantial body and a surprisingly satisfying finish.

Nose: Very little aroma, but there's a strange scent reminiscent of pencil erasers, with hints of light caramel, butterscotch, and jalapeno. Palate: The palate is significantly improved. It offers sweet, red fruit accompanied by a mouthwatering, spicy kick like a hot tamale. It's savory and nicely balanced between fruit and spice. The finish is a bit underwhelming with muted notes, which detracts from the overall experience.

I like my bourbon with familiar tastes of oak, vanilla, and caramel. Considering it's a rye, this is a fine drink. It's a smooth, herbal rye that isn't spicy. This is my top pick from the recent lineup.
