Antony Hammer 4.3

This is a selection from HyVee in Lees Summit, Missouri. It has a high proof of 124.6 and a very dark color. The aroma is intense, filling the nostrils. Smelling it gently, I detect burnt sugar and cocoa with a light floral note, but no fruitiness. The alcohol is definitely prominent. The palate is strong, less sweet than anticipated, but distinctly chocolatey with a bold cherry flavor. The heat from the proof comes across as peppery. The cocoa flavor lingers and becomes slightly bitter at the end. Overall, it's very good. I tried it with a single small ice cube, which caused the chocolate flavor to dominate, making it a bit one-dimensional. It's better enjoyed neat.

Deangelo Oswald 3.8

It was good for what it cost, but it didn't wow me. A whiskey lover's choice, it's somewhat fruity and quite peppery. I also detect some superior oak.

Angela Sears 4.0

A very subtle fruity and floral aroma. The initial taste is somewhat oily, with tannins and a hint of herbs. A well-balanced body and a slight warmth on the finish with more fruitiness. A very dependable pour.

Truman Irizarry 4.3

Nose: vanilla, honey clove Palate: baked bread and honey, vanilla caramel. A hint of marshmallow A classic bourbon profile, executed well. I would purchase it again.

Stella Burns 4.3

Nose: very smooth, with banana and burnt caramel. Palate: sweet spearmint, very smooth. More chocolate, not floral, with a medium-length finish.

Lori Mahan 4.5

Starts spicy, then becomes a mixed fruit explosion with a long finish. It transforms on your tongue, making it very enjoyable to sip.
