About this bottle

This release coincides with the 2021 reopening of the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience. It features a small-batch blend of five different bourbon ages, honoring the five Shapira brothers who established the distillery in 1935. The bourbon is produced using Heaven Hill's standard mash bill and aged between five and nine years to represent each founding brother. It is bottled at 90 proof, mirroring the proof of bourbons released by the distillery in the 1930s. The expression is sold exclusively at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience and at select Kentucky retailers starting in June, 2021.

I visited Heaven Hill and was drawn to this bottle, though I hadn't tasted it before. Since it's only available there, I assumed it would be worthwhile. The color is amber/copperish with thick legs and a medium body. It also feels medium-bodied on the palate, but not overly aged. The nose is very sweet initially, with strong notes of vanilla, maple syrup, and sweet cream. Corn, grain, and cereal are also present. Spices are the next most prominent element: nutmeg and black pepper, with hints of cloves. There's also a pine wood aroma and a slight apple pie scent. The palate emphasizes spices more, like cinnamon, pepper, and more pine wood. The sweetness is less pronounced, but still creamy vanilla and more toasted corn. Overall, it's a good drink, and I don't regret purchasing it. Cheers!

AROMA Oak, warm spices, toasted nuts, vanilla, caramel, preserved dark fruit, dried apples, cocoa, and faint traces of copper and hay. This shares clear similarities with another expression, but this one has more oak and a deeper, richer quality. MOUTHFEEL Oak, peanut brittle, warm spices, vanilla, citrus zest, preserved dark fruit, dried apples, cocoa, and faint traces of copper and hay. It's fruitier than anticipated, but not in an intrusive way. In fact, the flavors harmonize effectively in this particular bourbon. AFTERTASTE Medium to long duration. Peanut brittle, oak, fruit, char, and a hint of copper as it fades.

I purchased this at the distillery, and was informed it was exclusively available there. Despite being only 90 proof, it possesses excellent flavor. The nose offers pleasant caramel and vanilla, which carry through to a decent finish for its proof. A good bourbon overall, and potentially suitable for beginners.

Just got this at the Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown. Only offered in KY. Pricey, but worth the cost. A great sipper to enjoy with companions and a fine cigar. I detect cherry, honey, and apple. A pleasant finish with a mild yet spicy oak presence.

Fruit, grain, and nutmeg on the aroma. Taste is light with cinnamon and green apple. The end is interesting. Flavor fades and gives way to a light spice that sticks in the back of your throat.

Wilson Noble 3.0

Very spicy and thin. Nutty flavor upfront with a burn at the top of the throat. The flavor vanishes quite quickly.
