Luke Preston 3.5

A rich Single Malt Whisky from Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery in Yorkshire, England, made with 100% locally grown barley and aged in ex-Bourbon barrels before being bottled at 46% ABV. It begins with an aromatic blend of grain, wood, fruit, nuts, herbs & spices; the flavor deepens with notes of barley, apricot, vanilla, mint & maple syrup; leading to a creamy, medium-length finish with notes of gingerbread, orange zest, chocolate, honeycomb & hazelnuts. Nose: orchard fruit, grain, woodsy notes, sweet tree sap emerges later Palate: grain, sweet custard, subtle nuttiness Finish: brief, pure, citrus peel Lacks body. A bit fiery. However, pleasant and agreeable. I would enjoy drinking it but wouldn't seek it out to acquire. Update: served chilled with ice, it develops a delightful richness. This improves with a single cube. My initial try of an English whisky… and it's about what I'd anticipate from the UK… quite unremarkable! Mild flavor notes with a hint of nuttiness on the finish. Not bad, but definitely not something I'm going to pursue.

Camden Forte 2.8

Appreciate the originality, but it's not quite what I look for in whiskey. Loads of fruit, like pear and apple, with maybe some apricot in there too. Lacks depth for a single malt, but the flavors presented are amusing.

Maxine Mott 2.5

The aroma offers abundant orchard fruit and a hint of toasted bread. The taste is smooth on the tongue. Brown sugar and subtle cinnamon apple notes are present. The conclusion features a pleasant warmth from spice and a whisper of unsalted peanut. It's rather uninspiring for me.
