We sampled this alongside their Finest whisky, and the difference is stark. If you appreciate smoky/peaty whisky without it overwhelming other flavors, this is a good option to consider. For us, the nose didn't immediately reveal the smoky/peary notes, making it a bit of a surprise. Fortunately, there were no overly harsh finishes. This might benefit from a little water to open up, but we drank it neat. I would include it in a tasting of peaty whiskys.

Nose: Light and malty with a whisper of sea air, some caramel, and a faint smokiness. Palate: Flavors of orchard fruits, smoky peat, and shortbread. Finish: Smoky, sweet, and rich, with a lingering presence. A delightful non-age-statement whisky, with no added coloring or chill filtration, and appears slightly older than Batch #1.
