Fee Brothers Old Fashion bitters are a less potent alternative to Angostura bitters. It's one of the original bitters brands that reportedly survived prohibition, alongside Angostura and Peychaud's. While it might be a weaker version of Angostura, it still has a role in cocktails and works well in an Old Fashioned. Several recipe books specify this bitter (though Angostura could be substituted with a slight reduction), and it performs well in the recipes I've tried. The nose has a scent reminiscent of old leather, and it offers more bitterness than many other Fee Brothers bitters. Overall, it's a solid aromatic bitter, and the price makes it hard to fault. Again, you could just use Angostura bitters and be fine, but that likely applies to most aromatic bitters.

Compared to Angostura, Fee Brothers imparts more cinnamon to the cocktail. It has a decent herbal finish. I still prefer Angostura in my old fashioned.
Wow, a powerful wave of clove! Very strong on the clove or allspice, a bit sweet, and definitely unlike Angostura or Peychaud's.
Awful! All I can taste is Cinnamon, not the bark but pure powdered cinnamon.
