About this bottle

Far North Bødalen Bourbon represents the inaugural bourbon whiskey from this Minnesota estate distillery. Its mash bill consists of 60% heirloom corn, 35% Hazlet rye, and 5% malt barley. The bourbon was aged for 18 months in Minnesota oak. The name Bødalen (pronounced BO-da-lynn) refers to a Norwegian valley situated beside a vast glacier. This product is exclusively available at the distillery.

Anya Fernandez 3.5

The dominant flavor and aroma are of Sun-Maid Raisins, with a hint of cherry as well. I enjoy it, but it's certainly not for everyone.

Renae Maurer 3.8

Lingering finish, unexpectedly good given its youth. Might be a 4, requires more tasting. Youth brings sadness, but this whiskey does not.

Gerry Tisdale 3.0

Received cranberry at the start and finished more with caramel and a slight amount of cinnamon spice. A respectable pour for something aged 18 months.

Brad Ballesteros 3.5

Notes of caramel, spice, and orange citrus. It's quite young and fiery, but its inherent balance suggests it would have matured gracefully.

Allyson Holton 1.5

Harsh. Entirely unpleasant. Like fiery cough syrup, but without any medicinal benefits.

Beatrice Prado 3.8

Caramel, spice, cranberry, and smoke are present. Exceptionally smooth for a young bourbon.
