Irving Newman 3.5

Color: Very pale green, almost colorless. Smell: Citrus, spearmint, a hint of oregano?, light floral aromas. Taste & Texture: Sweet and herbal with a spearmint quality and a floral, citrus overtone. The texture is full. A very unique and enjoyable liqueur, quite unlike anything else I've sampled. It's similar to green Chartreuse but much milder in strength and composition, and it has a crisp freshness on both the nose and palate. My partner first said it reminded her of citrus or herbal scented dishwashing liquid, which sounds unappealing, but she's absolutely right. Then she tasted it and said it reminded her of mild herbal toothpaste, and I completely agree. While those notes might sound negative, they are not at all – it just evokes those aromas and flavors in a positive way. This was from a pack of 5 liqueur miniatures purchased from Ettal Benedictine monastery in Bavaria. Rating: "Good" - 83/100 (3.5 stars)
