It feels full and inviting, a definite improvement over the standard small batch version. The palate is straightforward, starting with charred oak, floral rye spice, and hints of cooked brown sugar. This elevates the standard without adding unnecessary complexity. Simply put, it's enjoyable and uncomplicated, as expected from this label. The finish is somewhat short, maybe medium, but still chewy as the flavors fade. Despite its simplicity, you keep wanting more. Considering the price and age of this bourbon, it's quite fantastic.
